Narrative

ADAIR CO., OK – One child died, and an adult sustained life-threatening injuries in a solo crash along the highway in Adair County.

The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. on Highway 51 just west of South 4673, or Mulberry Hollow Road. This is just south of Mulberry and northwest of Stilwell.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the accident. Police say the 28-year-old unrestrained driver suffered serious injuries after being thrown from the vehicle, and a 6-year-old passenger died at the scene of the crash.

Three other children sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
