Narrative
CHICKASHA, OK – The 23-year-old driver of a 2013 Dodge Avenger died on Christmas Day when an SUV collided with the rear of his vehicle along the turnpike in Chickasha.
Around 11 a.m., crews reported to the area of mile marker 83 on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, which is on the eastern side of the city.
The investigation thus far indicates that an elderly woman drove her 2012 Infiniti QX56 into the rear of a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The driver of the latter vehicle had parked his car along the shoulder of I-44 when it became disabled.
The collision killed the driver of the Dodge, whom authorities identified as Mason E. Jones.
The driver of the Infiniti went to the hospital in stable condition.
