Narrative

TULSA, OK – A crash involving a Tulsa fire truck killed an adult and a child and caused a passenger’s pregnancy to terminate on Monday.

The incident happened in the evening at the intersection of 41st Street and South New Haven Avenue, which is just northeast of Patrick Henry Elementary School.

Police say a southbound fire struck collided with a white Hyundai when the latter vehicle turned south onto New Haven. The fire truck was responding to reports of a building on fire at the time of the accident.

The crashed caused the sedan to crash into a telephone pole along the roadway.

A 23-year-old woman and a 5-year-old child died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the accident. Additionally, a pregnant 26-year-old woman miscarried as a result of the crash.

Three people remain in the hospital with injuries. These include the 28-year-old female driver, a one-year-old boy, and a four-year-old girl.

None of the occupants of the fire truck sustained injuries in the crash.
